According to TheNation, there is a doorbell on the left side of the gate. Observing the building closely, it is easy to see why the kidnappers settled for it.

Asked about the activities in the kidnap compound, a neighbour said:

“They (abductors) kept to themselves. The guy there, whenever he was driving in from outside, the gate would have been opened before he got to the gate.
In addition, loud music was always wafting from the bungalow. This always muffled every noise coming from there. This happened mostly in the day time.
In the night, of course, the generating set would take over. So, we (neighbours) could never have known what went on there”.

Cristiano Ronaldo has refused to answer questions from the press at the Confederations Cup amid reports he wants to leave Real Madrid.

However, Gestifute – the company owned by the 32-year-old's agent Jorge Mendes – issued a statement detailing their client's arrangements for payments related to his image rights and insisted "there has never been concealment, or the slightest intention to conceal".

On Friday, reports emerged that Ronaldo had made an ‘irreversible’ decision to leave Madrid and no longer play in Spain as a result of the treatment he has received.

He was linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain and former club Manchester United, with speculation claiming Ronaldo’s agent Mendes has been tasked with securing a return to Old Trafford.

Cope subsequently reported that Ronaldo has spoken to Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane about the situation and confirmed to his club boss that he does want to quit La Liga.

Ronaldo and Zidane will reportedly hold further talks at the end of the Confederations Cup, but, for now, the player is keeping his own counsel after not appearing at the post-match press conference following Portugal’s opening game of the tournament.

Why Diego Costa May Not Have A Place At Chelsea Next Season

Chelsea striker Diego Costa says he has been told by manager Antonio Conte that he does not have a future at Stamford Bridge.

The striker has been linked with a move away from the Premier League champions for much of the past season, despite having scored 22 goals in all competitions.

Costa was tipped for a move to the lucrative Chinese Super League in January only to commit to Chelsea for the remainder of the campaign, but his future has been cast into fresh doubt since reports emerged linking the Blues with a bid for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku.

The 28-year-old Costa has now stated that Conte has informed him he is free to look for another club and believes his dip in form in the second half of the season is behind the decision.

“I had a simple little message on my mobile from Conte in which he said that he isn’t counting on me for next season,” Costa told the media following Spain’s 2-2 friendly draw with Colombia on Wednesday.

It’s a shame, I’ve already forwarded the message to Chelsea people to decide. But it is clear that the coach does not count on me and does not want me there. You have to find a team.”

The striker has his heart set on a return to Atletico Madrid, though that move would be delayed due to the Spanish club’s transfer embargo.

“It would be nice to return to Atletico, but it is difficult to be four-five months without playing,” Costa added in quotes reported by Marca. “Being five months without playing? I do not know, it’s complicated, but people know that I love Atletico a lot and that I love living in Madrid.

“It would be nice to go back, but it’s difficult to be four-five months without playing. It’s a World Cup year and there’s a lot to think about. I need to play, that’s all. “

South Africa arrive Uyo ahead Nigeria clash

Stuart Baxter’s men boarded Air Peace 4P7338 plane from Lagos at 11:00 WAT to Uyo, where the encounter will take place.

After checking in at Le Meridien Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, they will have their first training at practise pitch of Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

All 25 players will take part in the practice session, including captain Itumeleng Khune.

Juve are well-known for their defensive solidity, and that has been aided by Alves’ stoic performances at right-back, while he has also chipped in with three goals at the other end.

And the Brazil star – formerly of Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona – has claimed that the club’s president has promised him and his team-mates a brand new supercar each if they emerge victorious.

“The only additional motivation is that the president [Andrea Agnelli] has promised us a Ferrari," he told reporters.

"I hope the president will keep his word."

Juve last won the Champions League in 1996.
