Victor Moses' talent was easy to spot

The Blues boss credited his winger turned wing back as the Nigeria international enjoys a fine breakthrough season at Stamford Bridge
Antonio Conte has praised Victor Moses' efforts in learning the defensive side of the game after Chelsea switched to a 3-4-3 to kick-start their title charge earlier this season.
Moses made his first league start for Chelsea since May 11, 2013 against Hull earlier this season and quickly became a cornerstone of Conte's Premier League leaders in a more withdrawn position.
He endured spells on loan at Liverpool, Stoke City and West Ham after signing for Chelsea, but Conte admits that he immediately noticed his talent after seeing him play during his side's pre-season tour of Austria and the United States.

“I realised it quickly, that Victor could stay with us," he said at a press conference at Cobham Training Centre. "I remember during pre-season, when we stayed in America, I spoke with him and told him: 'Victor, you will stay with us.'"
"I'm happy to have this type of player. But I saw his potential quickly. I knew of him, but to see him live is very important to judge a player. I repeat: he deserved to stay with us this season, and also now he's deserving to play in the lineup.”
The 26-year-old has had to adapt a lot this season to his side's new system as Conte has asked him to fill in at right wing back to improve the team's balance.
Conte was positive about Moses' attitude towards learning the defensive side of the game since his arrival and he is surprised at how well he has taken to his new role in the first team.
“For Victor, he was very, very happy when he listened to my words," Conte added. "To tell me: 'I'm ready to stay here and fight for you, for the club. I need to have my chance and show I deserve to play with this team, with Chelsea.'
"It happened, this, and we are very happy about this. He's shown himself to be a great player. If you ask me if I imagined him in this new position, not before. No. Not before [we tried him out in the role].
"We started 4-2-4 and I always saw him as a winger, very good in one versus one, but a bit poor defensively. Then, when I decided to change the system, I wanted to try him in this new role and to work with him on defensive situations.

"He showed me great commitment to understand, to study the new role, above all in defensive situations. Now we have a complete player, offensively and defensively.
“I saw in the past that Victor had injuries in the season. Different times. When that happens, and a player is injured, it's not easy to have a correct evaluation of the player.
"But this season, I think we are good and also we have been lucky to prepare him in a good way. He's always available, up to now."

Rooney open to emotional Everton return this summer with Man Utd career over

The Manchester United captain will receive further offers from China at the end of the season but would consider a return to Goodison Park
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is open to a summer return to boyhood club Everton,Goal understands.
Rooney has accepted that his time at Old Trafford is coming to an end and United are unlikely to stand in his way should a suitable offer arrive at the end of the season.
It has emerged that United knocked back Everton’s attempts to sign Rooney on loan during the January transfer window, insisting he still had a role to play in the coming months.
But Jose Mourinho’s casual approach to the idea of Rooney moving to China last month made it clear to the England striker that his long-term future lies away from Old Trafford.
Several big-spending Chinese clubs had shown an interest in signing the 31-year-old in recent weeks and are likely to try again in the summer, while Major League Soccer has long been mooted as a possible destination, but sources close to the striker have indicated that he would not rule out an emotional return to Goodison Park.
The opportunity to stay in the north west of England is thought to provide just as much incentive when it comes to deciding his future as any financial considerations.
While Rooney could expect to earn more than his current weekly wage of around £300,000 per week, including bonuses, if he were to move to China, he would have to take a considerable pay cut in the event of a return to Goodison Park.
Even with Rooney thought to be open to accepting a lower wage packet, Everton would still need to establish whether they can offer their former star a big-money contract.
Romelu Lukaku is still in talks over a deal which would make him the highest-paid player in the club’s history on more than £100,000 per week, though his agent, Mino Raiola, has previously made no secret of his desire to move the Belgian to one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The latest rumours from Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal and all the top teams

Should Alexis Sanchez leave Arsenal at the end of the season, the Gunners could make a move for Borussia Dortmund attacker Marco Reus.
The Chile international has just 18 months left on his Emirates contract and has stalled negotiations regarding a new deal due to a disagreement in wages, leading the Gunners to think about life after their top scorer.
Inter are also said to be interested in Alexis, while Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have also ben linked with a move.
Everton striker Romelu Lukaku is the latest Premier League player to be targeted by the super-rich Chinese Super League
The Belgian is the joint-top scorer of the English top flight and is wanted by Fabio Cannavaro's Tianjin Quanjian, while Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested.
Manchester United will turn their attention to an £80 million deal for Tottenham striker Harry Kane if they miss out on Antoine Griezmann,
The Atletico Madrid forward remains Jose Mourinho's top target for the summer window, but a list of alternatives is being drawn up at Old Trafford.

Juventus forward Paulo Dybala has been the subject of several bids from Manchester United
The Argentine is yet to commit to fresh terms with the Serie A champions and is also being closely monitored by Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Torres suffers horrific head injury after collision in Atletico Madrid draw

The Spanish forward was stretchered off the pitch and rushed to a nearby hospital following a sickening clash of heads against Deportivo
Fernando Torres is "stable and conscious" in hospital after suffering a terrible head injury in Atletico Madrid's 1-1 draw with Deportivo on Thursday.
The striker was at the centre of a frightening scene at the end of his side's 1-1 draw with Deportivo when he was knocked out cold following an aerial collision with an opposition defender.
Torres went limp in the air and subsequently landed face-first on the turf, with his head taking much of the blow in a sickening landing that saw him smash into the ground with considerable force.
"Fernando has suffered a head injury," an Atletico statement initially read. "He was rushed to the hospital to undergo tests. He will spend the night in hospital under observation."

Radio Marca later reported that they had been told by Torres's agent, Antonio Sanz, that the 32-year-old was conscious and talking while being taken to hospital in an ambulance.
That was later confirmed by the club, who revealed that the Spaniard was "stable and conscious" and that he would stay in hospital overnight.

The club also tweeted that Torres had undergone a CT scan and that there was seemingly no major lasting damage sustained. The message in Spanish read: "Torres has had a cranial and cervical CT [computed tomography scan].
"No traumatic alterations or injuries [were discovered]."
Atletico had fallen behind to a Florin Andone strike in the Liga clash, before Antoine Griezmann rescued a point for Diego Simeone's men with a stunning effort from distance.
The final minutes of the game, however, were virtually a write-off due to the lack of enthusiasm of either team to continue after witnessing Torres's injury.
After falling off the radar in recent years after declining from his peak as one of the world's best strikers, Torres has seen a resurgence at boyhood club Atletico acting as foil to Manchester United target Griezmann.
The 32-year-old has scored seven goals in all competitions in 2016-17 for last season's Champions League runners-up, who are 11 points behind current leaders Barcelona in the Liga title race.
