Egyptian media report that former Ghana boss Kwesi Appiah is being linked with the vacant Zamalek job.
The Whites are without a coach after a fractuous relationship with African football legend Hossam Hassan. He left after just three matches in charge.
Kwesi Appiah, who was sacked in September from the Ghana job, is one of the names reportedly under consideration.
Others are former Burkina Faso boss Paulo Duarte, former Ghana boss Milovan Rajevac, Jaime Pacheco, Hector Cuper and Reynaldo Rueda.
Kwesi Appiah has so far not commented on the matter.
