Caceres injury blow for Juventus

The versatile defender is facing a month on the sidelines with a thigh muscle problem sustained in Sunday's Serie A win over Roma in Turin
Juventus have been rocked by the news that defender Martin Caceres has been ruled out of action for four weeks through injury.
The Uruguay international started Sunday's Serie A showdown with Roma but pulled up just before the break while attempting to chase down Giallorossi attacker Gervinho and was promptly replaced by Angelo Ogbonna during the half-time interval.
Subsequent scans have now confirmed that the Italian champions will have to make do without the versatile 27-year-old centre-half for a month.
"Martin Caceres underwent medical tests after departing Sunday’s clash with Roma due to an injury sustained during the closing stages of the first half," read a statement on the club's official website.
"These examinations have revealed a first-second degree tear of the semitendinosus muscle in the defender's left thigh. He is expected to be out of action for approximately four weeks."
Caceres' injury is a blow for Bianconeri boss Massimiliano Allegri, who has already having to make do without one of the mainstays of Juve's defence in recent seasons, Andrea Barzagli, who is not scheduled to return to action until the start of November.
Allegri will take heart from Ogbonna's return to form this season but the loss of Caceres means that the Serie A titleholders will most likely only have midfielder-turned-defender Luca Marrone for cover at the back for their October 22 Champions League clash with Olympiakos and upcoming league games against Sassuolo, Palermo, Genoa and Empoli.
