Awoniyi joins NEC Nijmegen on loan

 
The Liverpool forward will team up with the Dutch Eredivisie side on loan for the 2016/2017 season

Former Nigeria U17 and U20 striker Taiwo Awoniyi has joined NEC Nijmegen on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool subject to the granting of a work permit.
Liverpool confirmed the departure of the Nigerian youngster who played on loan last season with Bundesliga side FSV Frankfurt  on its website.
"Liverpool striker Taiwo Awoniyi has joined Dutch side NEC Nijmegen on a season-long loan deal, subject to a work permit being granted." the statement reads.
The 19-year-old player who joined the Reds last summer, has been handed the no. 9 jersey in Peter Hyballa's team.
Nijmegen who are currently unbeaten in the Eredivisie with one win and two draws will hope to continue heir fine form when they host AZ Alkmaar this weekend.
Awoniyi was a member of the Nigeria U23 squad that qulified for the 2016 Olympic Games but he was cut by coach Samson Siasia days before the competition.
