The Oluyole Warriors’ coach has charged the senior national team to correct mistakes made against the Terenga Lions in future games
Shooting Stars’ head coach, Fatai Amoo has charged the Super Eagles to improve on the lapses noticed in their international friendly with Senegal when they resume for the 2019 AFCON qualifiers in June and subsequent matches.
The Eagles came back from a goal down scored in the 53rd minute through Mamadou Sow before Kelechi Iheanacho's penalty rescued Gernot Rohr's men from defeat.
“We were unable to watch the match live but feelers from the game indicated that our opponents (Senegal) scored through defensive mistake and that they were more effective in the midfield than our boys,'' Amoo told Goal.
''We can’t afford to make those mistakes during the AFCON and World Cup qualifiers and we must try to correct them in the second friendly game on Monday and other subsequent games. It will be painful to miss another Nations Cup and we must put our act together to ensure that we pick a ticket this time.
“We have a good lead at the top of our group in the World Cup qualifiers. We must consolidate on this and ensure that the Cameroonians do not hit us by surprise when they visit us here.
''Our World Cup hopes will hinge on the result we produce in the first leg of the double header and only adequate preparations will help us out.''
