One-time factional head of the Nigeria Football Federation Jareth Tanebe has urged football stakeholders to rally round the current board of the NFF led by Amaju Pinnick in their bid to offer a new lease of life to the game.
Speaking yesterday in an interview with Sports Vanguard, Tanebe said Pinnick has learnt the ropes of sports administration from the best crop of Nigerians and was steeped in global sports marketing to drive home good fortunes into the coffers of the NFF.
Describing Pinnick as a humble, young, vibrant and open-minded person, Tenebe expressed confidence that the good days will soon start rolling in for Nigerian football as the NFF hit the ground to bring in the goodies that the masses so much crave for.
“All football stakeholders should as a matter of national interest rally round the new board of the NFF, led by Pinnick because they mean well for the development of the game and are committed to ensuring that our football competes with the world’s best at any given time.
“I have known Pinnick over the years and his passion, vision, knowledge and desire to bequeath a lasting legacy for the youths of Nigeria are the very things that have made me to lend my support to this administration and urge Nigerians to give them time to succeed”, added Tenebe.
He noted that Pinnick’s board can go on to be the most successful FA board in Nigeria’s history if stakeholders allow the less than two-month old board work without heating up the polity.
“Of course they can go on to become the most successful FA board if they are allowed to work unhindered by Nigerians. With Pinnick steering the ship of affairs, a lot of goodies will surely roll in for our football”, said Tenebe.
