Barcelona can beat Real Madrid to Champions League

The Brazil captain says it is a dream of his to win the tournament and is confident his side can beat their fierce rivals to the European title in Berlin this season
Barcelona forward Neymar is dreaming of a Champions League title and believes his side can beat rivals Real Madrid to the crown.

Madrid are on a run of 21 consecutive victories ahead of Saturday’s Club World Cup final with Argentinian side San Lorenzo and marched to the their 10th Champions League title last season.

But despite admitting that Carlo Ancelotti’s side have some of the best players in the world, the Brazil captain is confident his Barca side have what it takes to become European champions in Berlin next year.

"Winning the Champions League is a dream I have had since I was a child. And of course, imagine what it must be like to win it with Barca," he told Sport.

"[Real Madrid] are a great team with great players, the best in the world, and as a team are doing very well.

"But I believe in my teammates, I have great faith in this team, I think we can do more and I'm sure we'll come out on top."

The 22-year-old went on to say that he still believes Lionel Messi is the greatest player in the world and that the Argentine makes the game ‘easy’ for his team-mates.

"For me, to play with the best in the world is easy, it is always easier to play with the best," he said.

"It's an honor. When I saw him from the outside when I was in Brazil. I idolised him. Now that I'm around, I could see that everything I thought was right and that he is the best."

The former Santos star also says he is confident that new signing Luis Suarez will come good at Barcelona, calling for patience with the Uruguay international who has yet to find the net in seven Liga matches for his new club.

"Suarez is a great player and the first year is to always about adaptation.

"For me, when I came in it was difficult, and for him I think it’s also still difficult, but eventually he will settle and score more goals."

Neymar returned to full training on Friday and is set to return to the side to face Cordoba this weekend after an ankle injury kept him out of clashes against Getafe and Huesca.
