The Nigeria Premier League outfits have been handed easy opponents from South Sudan and Benin Republic in the opening round of the 2015 Caf Champions League
Nigeria Professional Football League champions Kano Pillars will face Malaika of South Sudan Malaika in the 2015 Caf Champions League preliminary round with the country’s second representative Enyimba paired against Buffles du Borgou FC of Benin Republic.The draws for the 19th edition of the Orange Champions League 2015 and the 12th Orange Confederation's Cup were held at the Caf headquarters in Cairo on Monday.
Pillars' preliminary round foes, Malaika are back-to-back winners of the South Sudan National Cup and are debutant at 2015 Caf Championship League while the Peoples Elephants foes, Buffles du Borgou are the reigning champions of the Benin First Division, the Championnat National.
The two Nigerian sides made the list of 58 clubs with title holders ES Setif and six others exempted from the preliminary round of the elite continental club championship which gets underway on February 13.
Kano Pillars will visit Maliaka, while Enyimba entertain Buffles in the first leg of the ties will take place between February 13-15, with the second leg set for the weekend of February 27, 2015.
