Former Super Eagles striker Victor Okechukwu Agali has joined the calls for Villareal CF of Spain striker, Ikechukwu Uche to be recalled to the Super Eagles team.
He joins the list of former players that have called for a resolution of the issues between Uche and Coach Stephen Keshi.
The former Shalke 04 of Germany striker, who had a similar experience during his time in the Super Eagles, also shared his experience and admonished both player and coach not to look at themselves, but the country.
“It happened to me as well during my playing days, where you have players falling out with coaches.
“But it’s not about IK Uche, and it’s not about Keshi. It’s about Nigeria, the country’s image when it comes to football.
“I just want to plead with those involved, Uche and Keshi, it’s about our image, it’s about restoring the image of our country,” he said.
The animosity between Keshi and Uche is widely reported, with the latest being the claim by Keshi that Uche had always wanted to be begged before playing for Nigeria, with the 30-year old striker refuting such claims, saying he’s always happy to play for his country.
