Maigari wishes Nigerian Football well

Immediate past president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Aminu Maigari yesterday said he will continue to wish the Nigerian football well in all its endeavours.Maigari
Maigari who was performing his last assignment as the NFF president during the elective Congress of the federation in Warri, Delta State said he was happy to leave the stage with his head held high.
He specifically remembered the numerous achievements recorded under his watch by the country especially winning the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) after 19 years.
The former Bauchi State FA chairman however regretted the crisis that engulfed the nation’s football immediately after the Brazil 2014 FIFA World Cup and urged the new board to work with all the stakeholders to end the crisis permanently.
Also in his address, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye who also declared the congress open said the federal government will continue to collaborate with the new board of the NFF in developing the game in the country.
In his goodwill message, the Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports, Hon. Godfrey Gaya said the National Assembly is in full support of the election.
However, he challenged the new board to put an end the crisis that usually herald elections into the NFF executive committee.
