AWC: My Falconers will lift Nigeria in Namibia— Dedevbo

Nigeria’s under-20 women coach, Peter Dedebvo has backed the Falconets players invited to the senior women team to lift the country at the forth coming African women championship scheduled for October 11-25 in Windhoek, Namibia.
Top U-20 players Asisat Oshoala, Uchechi Sunday, Ugochi Njoku, Sarah Nnodim and Mariam Ibrahim were invited by coach Edet Okon to the Super Falcons’ camp ahead of the task in Namibia. And these players who won silver at the FIFA under-20 women world cup in Canada are expected to make the final cut for the AWC, which the Nigerian women are eager to reclaim after four years of trophy drought.
Coach Dedevbo who led the Falconets to Canada said that these junior players are in form of their lives and they are looking forward to winning the trophy with the Super Falcons.
“With the kind of form these girls exhibited during the world cup in Canada they will do well in Namibia. I expect them to make the final team and they will lift the country just like they did in Canada,” said the coach.  He stated that the players in camp of the Falcons are full of enthusiasm and this will work in their efforts to win back the trophy.
“Our Falcons normally do well. It was only at the last Championship in Equatorial Guinea, they failed to win a medal.
“This time around the coaches and players know what is expected of them and they will lift the trophy.”
Also, midfielder Oshoala stated that she was looking forward to winning the trophy and booking a ticket to Canada next year for the FIFA women world cup.
“My dream is to bring the trophy back to Nigeria. It will be nice to play in the women world cup in Canada.
