Rohr names Ikeme's replacement for Senegal clash

The former youth international could earn his senior debut after being called up by the German tactician to replace the injured Wolves shot-stopper
Tope Okeowo has been called up to the Nigeria squad for Thursday's Senegal friendly clash as a replacement for first choice goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme.
Ikeme pulled out due to an injury and Gernot Rohr had to invite Okeowo, a former Golden Eaglet player, currently plying his trade with Kent County League's Premier Division outfit, Peckham Town.
Team doctor, Ibrahim Gyaran said: “Carl (Ikeme) has been having hamstring and Achilles tendon issues but we did a scan on Wednesday night and we await the result. It is, however, good that the other goalkeepers are here.”
The German was prompted to extend an invitation to relatively unknown Okeowo to avoid a goalkeeping dilemma after Ikeme's injury and late arrivals of Daniel Akpeyi and Ikechukwu Ezenwa owing to visa issues.
Sources in London disclosed that the Wolves man missed out of the team's final training session on Wednesday night due to his injury.
The Super Eagles will face the Teranga Lions at the Hive Stadium for the first time in almost 11 years after the Super Eagles claimed a famous 2-1 victory.
A win against Aliou Cissé’s side will no doubt lift the spirit of Rohr's men ahead of their crunch 2019 Afcon qualifier against South Africa in June.
