Queens Park Rangers and Stoke City will lock horns at Loftus Road tomorrow, with both sides desperate to jump start their respective Premier League campaigns, with Nigerian striker Victor Moses angling to lead Stoke’s attack.
Rangers have endured a tough return to the English top flight this season, having lost both their opening two league matches, against Hull City and Tottenham, before they crashed to a 1-0 loss at Burton in the Capital One Cup.
However, Harry Redknapp’s men did manage to bounce back to see off Sunderland 1-0, although they were brought crashing back down to earth lastweekend as they suffered a 4-0 loss against Manchester United.
The Potters, meanwhile, have faired only marginally better, having drawn against Hull after opening the campaign with defeat to Aston Villa, although they managed to overcome Portsmouth 3-0 in the League Cup before shocking English champions Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
However, Mark Hughes’ men were unable to maintain that momentum as they suffered a 1-0 loss to fellow newcomers Leicester City last weekend, leaving Stoke 14th in the standings with four points, two places and one point better off than QPR, who themselves are only one point clear of the relegation zone.
In team news, Rangers will hand late fitness tests to midfielders Joey Barton and Jordon Mutch, but Adel Taarabt is out with an ankle injury.
Some good news for the London side, though, is the fact Eduardo Vargas is available for selection, despite having required stitches in a head wound.
Stoke are expected to be without Jonathan Walters (calf) and Marko Arnautovic (foot), but Stephen Ireland has overcome a rib injury while Mame Biram Diouf is also available.
