Tony Obuh eminently qualified to be Delta Governor, says PDP Chairman

The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi says for the sake of equity an Anioma son or daughter should emerge as governor of the state in 2015.
Chief Nwaoboshi stated this when a governorship aspirant, Mr. Tony Obuh paid him a consultation visit.
He said the race for the governorship position was open and stressed the need for Anioma sons and  daughters to aspire for the top seat. The Delta State PDP Chairman said he was in support of what God has destined, stressing that  Sir Obuh  was eminently qualified , like every other Anioma son, to vie for the position of governor.
Chief  Nwaoboshi said  though the political terrain was known to be tough and rough he believed in Obuh”s ability to weather the storm, especially as the terrain was akin to slander, backbiting, betrayal and other vices, which he described as necessary obstacles to refine and define a true leader.
He urged Obuh not to be deterred whenever he came across such hurdles, but to forge ahead in his pursuit which he said was very feasible.
The PDP Chairman later prayed for Sir Obuh and asked God to grant him his heart desire.
He thank him for the support he had given to the party in the past, adding that the Obuh family had always been supportive PDP, especially the late Chief Ben Obuh who was until his death the vice chairman of the party. Earlier, Sir Tony Obuh told the PDP chairman that the visit was to inform him of his intention to run for the position of the governor on the platform of PDP, having been a card carrying member since 2011.
Sir Obuh said his venture into politics just after retiring from the state Civil Service was to add value to the life of Deltans through sustainable and people oriented projects and policies that would improve the state’s economy. He said for his aspiration to be achieved he needed the support of the state PDP chairman and stakeholders in the party, stressing that he was committed to flying the party’s flag.
The   retired permanent secretary said though the dream of becoming the governor of the state was a tall one, he believed in the ability of the PDP chairman and stakeholders to make the burden light by oiling the machinery that had seen the state remain under the leadership of the PDP since the advent of democracy in 1999.
Sir Obuh said having served in the state civil service for over thirty-two years he had garnered enough experience over the years which would be handy in placing Delta State on a stronger footing and higher pedestal in its match to greatness. Sir Obuh was accompanied on the consultation visit by members of the project Tony Obuh  International among other dignitaries.
